The board is where the job is run day to day. Each card is one piece of work. It sits in a column that says where it stands.

The columns

Every house starts with the same seven: Backlog, Ready, Scheduled, In Progress, Blocked, Punch, and Done. Backlog, Ready, and Done start folded to a narrow strip; click a strip to open it.

Add a task

  • Fastest: choose Add task at the bottom of a column, type what needs doing, and press Enter. The box stays open for the next one.
  • With details: choose Add task at the top right for the full form.

What a task holds

FieldNotes
Title, DescriptionOnly the title is required
StatusThe column it's in
AssigneeOne person: someone on Your team, or one of your Contractors and contacts
Start date, Due dateDates put it on the timeline and the calendar
Waits onWork that has to finish first. See Schedule the work.
Room, PriorityPriority is Low, Medium, High, or Critical. High and Critical show a coloured stripe on the card.
Linked budget linesTies the task to the money that pays for it, and sets its trade
PhotosUp to 20. The newest one shows on the card.
ChecklistSteps inside the task. The card shows progress, such as 2/5.
CommentsNotes for the team. Type @ to bring someone in.

On a task that already exists, photos, checklist ticks, labels, and comments save as you go. The fields above them need Save.

Assign it

Pick the Assignee and choose Save.

  • A teammate gets a notification and an email, and the task appears in their My work.
  • A contractor with a login sees it on their own page. They aren't emailed, so tell them it's there.
  • If the contact's insurance is expired or runs out within 30 days, you're asked “Assign anyway?” first. It warns; it doesn't stop you.

Move a task

  • On a computer, drag the card to another column.
  • Anywhere, open the card's ⋯ menu and choose Mark done or Move to. This is the way on a phone.
  • Or open the task and change Status.

Overdue and blocked

How it countsA task is overdue when its due date has passed and it isn't in Done. A task due today isn't overdue yet, and a finished task is never overdue, whatever its date.

Blocked is a column, not a rule. Move a task there when it can't go forward, and say why in a comment. Blocked tasks are listed under Blockers on the house's Home and drawn in red on the timeline.

Find things

  • Search tasks matches the title, description, assignee, and labels.
  • Mine, Overdue, and Due this week are one tap each.
  • Filter narrows by assignee, priority, and label.
  • Group by rearranges the board by Room, Trade, or Person instead of status. Dragging a card to another person's lane reassigns it.

Comments and mentions

Type @ and the start of a name to mention someone. They get a notification and an email with what you wrote. You can mention teammates who can see the house, not contractors. A comment can't be edited; you can delete your own.

Labels

Labels are small coloured tags, such as “Waiting on material.” Owners and admins create them in a task's Labels section. A workspace has three labels in all, shared across tasks, photos, expenses, and contacts, so spend them on what you filter by most.

Export

Export tasks (CSV) downloads every task on the house with its column, priority, assignee, dates, and labels.

On a phone

Columns stack down the screen and fold; tap Show to open one. There's no dragging, so use the ⋯ menu.
