GuideTeam and contractors

For contractors: your jobs on your phone

See the work an owner assigned you, mark it done, add photos, send an invoice, and price a job. No app to install.

An investor you work for uses Fixer Upper House to run their jobs. They've given you a free login so you can see your part of each one. It works in your phone's browser.

Get in

  1. Step 1: Open the invite email and tap Open invite, or tap the link the owner texted you.
  2. Step 2: Type a Password of at least 8 characters, type it again, and tap Set password.
  3. Step 3: You land on Assigned work.

The invite link works once and lasts seven days. If it's expired, ask the owner to send a new one. To come back later, go to fixerupperhouse.com, tap Log in, and sign in with your email and password. Forgot password works too.

If you work for more than one owner who uses the app, all your jobs are on the same page under one login.

See your work

Tasks are grouped by address. Each one shows what to do, when it's due, and where it stands.

Update a task

  1. Step 1: Tap the task.
  2. Step 2: Under Status, choose In progress when you start and Done when you finish.

It saves when you choose. The owner sees it move on their board.

Add photos

  1. Step 1: Tap the task, then Add photo.
  2. Step 2: Take a picture or choose one from your phone.
  3. Step 3: Wait for the upload to finish.

A task holds up to 20 photos. Photos can be JPEG, PNG, or WebP, or a PDF, up to 10 MB each.

TipiPhone photos saved as HEIC are refused. If that happens, switch your camera to “Most Compatible” in Settings and take it again.

Send an invoice

  1. Step 1: Tap Submit an invoice.
  2. Step 2: Choose the Property if you have work at more than one address.
  3. Step 3: Type the Amount and check the Date.
  4. Step 4: Add a Note if it helps, such as “Rough-in, first half.”
  5. Step 5: Under Invoice file, attach a photo or PDF of your invoice. This is required.
  6. Step 6: Tap Submit invoice.

It shows under Invoices as Pending. You'll get an email when the owner approves or rejects it. If it's rejected, the owner's note says why, and you can send a new one. You can't edit an invoice once it's sent.

How it countsApproval is the owner agreeing the amount. The app doesn't pay you; payment is arranged directly with the owner.

Price a job

When an owner wants your price, you get an email and a Price requests card at the top of the page.

  1. Step 1: Type your price beside each line. Leave a line blank if you aren't pricing it.
  2. Step 2: Add Notes for the owner: what's included, your start date, the warranty.
  3. Step 3: Tap Send prices.

Punch items

If the owner assigns you punch-list items, they're listed under Punch. Set each one to In progress or Done as you go.

What the owner can see

The owner sees the task updates, photos, and invoices you send. Nothing else about you is shared. You don't see their budget or anyone else's work, and they don't see anything from other owners you work for.
